Something scary is hiding in the dark

December 10, 2011 3 comments

I’ve been busy working since last August, however, I become occasionally allowed to obtain a relaxed time. Playing computer games is one of my favorite pastimes. I’m sure you already know it because I uploaded several footages in which I was playing some computer games. I bought a new game at Akihabara in last September. That’s what one of my favorite ball-by-ball player on Nico Nico Douga(one of online broadcasting program like YouTube) played and broadcasted. I actually knew what the ending of the game was going on, though, I just felt like playing it.

DEAD SPACE is the one.

This game was launched in 2008. The descriptions in the game were so terrible and grotesque that it was not allowed to be sold in Japan. You can obtain only the imported one. Of course it’s not the one translated in Japanese.

Here’s the outline. In 25th century, people were out of the earth in order to gather materials that were already run out there. One day in 2508, distress signals of SOS from a huge mining ship ‘USG ISHIMURA’ were gave out. USG Kellion, a ship, was sent in order to research and solve the problems. Isaac Clarke, who was an engineer to USG Kellion, was in worry watching a footage from his ex-girlfriend, Nicole, who worked in ISHIMURA. USG Kellion had hardly docked with USG ISHIMURA when an explosion took place on USG Kellion. Isaac and other crews had a narrow escape from the explosion and landed ISHIMURA. There was no hint in ISHIMURA that any crews of ISHIMURA existed on the ship. Instead, something terrible was waiting for Isaac.

The word ISHIMURA is totaly a Japanese word. You can see several chinese characters in the game. The development staff of this game are said to have respect for a prominent game: Biohazard(Resident Evil). Also, the atmosphere in the game is so similar to those of the movie ‘Alien’ or ‘The Thing’.

As I wrote above, I know what the ending is going on, but my heart can’t help pounding with fear. It’s a very interesting game.

I’ve been trying to record my plays and upload them on YouTube. I’m so glad if you enjoy them.

New zombies can make me relax?

November 22, 2009 Leave a comment

I got tough days in this two weeks. An interview test in English last week and an examination today. I nearly had my brain exploded. However, it’s over. How were these tests? Ummm…I guess I can make both of them. 😀 I’ll report the result as soon as I got.

In order to make my brain relax, I bought two things after finishing the test today. Come to think of brains…yeah, Zombies! Did you remember that I introduced one computer game about zombies called ‘LEFT 4 DEAD’? The second version of it was released this week.

Like a series of ‘Resident evil’, the movies, we have to fight with ‘infections’ in this game, which happened a few weeks later or so since ‘LEFT 4 DEAD’ ended. Unfortunately, the characters we’re supposed to play have been changed. Zoey, the girl I often played in ‘LEFT 4 DEAD’, was gone. Instead of the pretty girl, there are many new weapons and enemies. Katana(someone clearly shouted it with his/her English accent), Chainsaws, AKs, Jockey, Charger, Spitter… many weapons and enemies sometimes help us and sometimes annoy us…lol

It’s been a long time for me to play FPS games, so I found it difficult to play(or survive) this game. But it can certainly make my brain relax. I’m trying to record the film I’m playing as well as I did in ‘LEFT 4 DEAD’. It’s going to be a long time until I finish encoding the film, so I’ll upload this article before the film.

One more thing I bought at the computer shop was ‘ALONE IN THE DARK’. It seemed a kind of mystery game in English, not FPS game. I’ve wanted to play mystery games proceeding in English in order to let myself in as many times in English as possible, so I got it. I’ve not played this game yet and ofcourse I’ll record the film as well if I can.

Japan takes the second place

November 8, 2009 Comments off

In this article, I introduced you one FPS game, Special Force, which was originated in Korea. This game is loved from FPS players in the Asian region as well as Sudden Attack or other games which are born in Korea. As for Special Force, the world championship tournament was held this week end in Taiwan.

In this tournament, 8 teams from 7 countries, Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, America, Philippines and Taiwan(got 2 teams as the host) aimed the first place. At the previous championship in 2008, Japan got the 5th place. This time, NHN, the company managing Special Force in Japan, in order to get higher position in the tournament, attempted to have the Japan team experienced a lot. For example, they gave the team a chance to fight with one famous clan in Korea. It was said at that time that the Japan team don’t have so many chances to stand right in front of many spectators and play the game. That’s why NHN tried to have the team experienced as much as possible.

Unfortunately, I had no time to watch their first-round match held on Saturday because of my business, but I got a chance to watch the final round on Sunday. Thanks to the TV station of Taiwan or something, we could watch games broadcasting on the Internet. Before the program began, I checked the results and was totally surprised with them. Japan got through the preliminary league as the second place and beat the team of America in the semi-final! In that preliminary league, the team of Korea, which was known as one of the favorites for this championship, fought in the other league, and that would have been one of reasons Japan went through the league. Anyway, I was so touched with this result and it made me stick to my PC.

The Taiwan team(is called ‘spider’), the opponent in final, I don’t know if my description was correct, seemed like the team professional players gathered. They put the same colored jacket on which the names of companies postted. Besides, in addition to their families, ‘the spider girls'(I named them on my own, I don’t know how they are called in fact) stood around the team like their secretaries or something.

In final round, they seemed they had to fight alternately as CT(Counter Terrorist) and T(Terrorist) in two stages, ‘satellite’ and ‘desert camp’, which was the most commonly used stage for clan matches in Japan.(You can see ‘desert camp’ in my YouTube film) The Japan team started with T(Terrorist; the team trying to plant the bomb) in satellite. “Ummm…T in satellite…they must be difficult games…” whispering like that, I kept watching. It’s difficult for T in satellite to liaize and attack. The two places to plant the bomb, the room and the roof, are tough places not only to seize them from CT but also to protect them from CT after planting the bomb. As a matter of fact, I often play this game with my clan mates and I usually fight as a commander. Last year, in order to join in a competition and win, I planned many missions as T in satellite, however, I just felt only their difficulties. Ofcourse I know our useless skills were the very reason we lost, couldn’t win at the competition at all…lol

Not because they couldn’t liaised well, but because personal skills of the Taiwan team were better than Japan’s, the Japan team just kept earning their lost. As I wrote above, even though they got the roof or room where they should plant the bomb, the players of the Taiwan easily got them back. It’s notable that two players of the Taiwan team, SAMMY and POLO. SAMMY was an assulter(Is this word usually used?) holding M4A1. He knocked Japan’s attacks down alone. Although he was outnumbered by Japan players, he survived and beat them. “How could he do that? Cheating or something?” Ofcourse he played in front of many spectators, so it’s impossible to cheat in the games, but I couldn’t help saying like that. POLO was a sniper using PSG-1. “If we got a sniper like him in our clan, we would be able to win a lot… How could he aim so correctly?” it’s very vital to hit from a distance before CQB during clan matches. In other words, the sniper of your opponent is the most important target and you always have to check where it is and it will be.

The players of Japan team, especially ‘kids(caLifas)’ and ‘Hore(AKiRis), the best AKers I thought, also did their best, but sadly they didn’t make it. The second place was the result of them. I have entered the room they hosted before when they joined in the other clan, the legendary clan Ikkitousen. ‘kids'(I prefer to call him ‘caLifas’ with deep respect) killed me in split seconds. Ever since I experienced it, I got as many films they played as possible and studied how to move in clan matches.

I think the competition will be held next year as long as this game’s service keeps going. I hope they would polish their skills up again, try the next one and get the first place.

I’ll put one film’s URL on this article, in which ‘caLifas’, ‘AKiRis’ and ‘Rikip’ are featured.
‘caLifas’, ‘AKiRis’ and ‘Rikip’

P.S. I’ll reply for your comments for another days. Sorry about that.

“I must call you…you’re KASU!” this line made me crazy.

September 23, 2009 13 comments

I lately got serious articles in a row in this blog, so I think I should change the topics.

Recently, I don’t know why, one of my subordinates, who is 28 years old, got hooked on GUNDAM.

Ever since that, he gets something trivial on GUNDAM from many sources, such as comics or animations, and he throws out many questions to me as if he checks how much I know GUNDAM. Fortunately, the questions he threw were almost for beginners, so I just managed to answer them and I can show him my high-positioned skill as a superior…lol

I already wrote about GUNDAM before. (this is the article) Actually, ofcourse because of the amount of watching, among our generation, “the first GUNDAM” is said it’s the best. As a matter of fact, I like “Z-GUNDAM” rather than the first, however, the complication or elaboration of human relationship in “the first” beats “Z-GUNDAM” or “ZZ-GUNDAM”, I think. (However, in the respect of the complication on correlationship of the characters, I think “Z-GUNDAM” is the most complicated one.)

One of enjoyable parts on “the first” is said that there are many memorable and impressive lines in it.

(I just translated famous lines in “the first” by myself, so there might be some mistakes and you have better expressions than mine.)
“Let me show the abilities of your mobile suits!”
“I’ve never been punched! Even by my Dad!”
“Sadly, we’re definitely…under the warfare”
“What a wimp!”
“I must call them like this; They’re idiot!”

“idiot” in the last phrase for kasu in Japanese, you can see it in many situations, especially on the Internet. It is often written by katakana, which is one way to express in Japanese. Japanese is composed by kanji(chinese character), hiragana and katakana. kasu is originated from the meaning “the last thing which is left after doing something” and is also originated from the meaning “useless”. We often use kasu for an insult word. On the Internet, kasu is also used like this; as an abbreviated expression, “ks”. “Hey, you don’t understand it at all! ks!” you can often see such an expression.

In “the first”, Guillen Zabi, the second positioned executive of the Principality of Zeon, adopted this expression kasu in his speech. After that, he killed his father and also his superior, Degwin Sod Zabi. I don’t know why, but I was absolutely impressed with the scene when I first watched it. “He must be in public position. I don’t think many politicians proclaim their thoughts by using such an impolite word.” I, an elementary school student at that time, thought like that.

As seen above, there are many interesting lines in “the first”, so even now, many people still love “the first”. However, in the respect of the theme songs in a series of GUNDAM, I do want to introduce better one than the first’s. (As I wrote before, in the respect of GUNDAM itself, I love “ν GUNDAM”)

Here it is, the opening song of “Z-GANDAM”. Now, how is Hiroko Moriguchi doing?

This is another song Hiroko Moriguchi sang in another GUNDAM story(GUNDAM F91).

I would like to show you my favorite GUNDAM, please check it.

The dawn of FPS in Japan.

August 4, 2009 3 comments

One day, one of my friend on the Internet told me that no one in Japan play FPS game, and even worse, no one play games with computers.

Now that it’s not the truth. The number of FPS players in Japan is increasing now. Actually, many Japanese might associate games with machinery made for only playing games, such as NINTENDO DS or PlayStation, which is called “consumer-model” in Japan. On the contrary, I guess people in the other countries might take a granted they play games with computers. (I know these thoughts have recently changed since NINTENDO and SONY started selling their models all over the world.)

Me, since I stopped playing games in my younger age, I’ve never tried to play games. Games turn me on…besides, I had no idea that I enjoy playing games with computers as well as other Japanese did. But now, I met this game about two years ago. For me, this is the very first FPS game, and even now, I join in one clan and enjoy playing.

Special Force is originated in Korea. Korea is very famous for the population and level of FPS players among far east countries. I heard that you can watch FPS program on TV whole day. There are many famous FPS games made in Korea and the tournaments are often held. The clans from Korea have won the match in a row, I think. In Japan, waves of professionalizing as game players are still not larger, however, in Korea and other countries, such as America, the professional game players get contracts with computer parts manufacturers and earn their money. (I ofcourse know I’m not supposed to be like that.)

I’m not such a good player, but it’s so fun for me to play games with my friends on the Internet. Our clan is not gachiclan, which means “clan in which seriously motivated and skillful people are gathering and aiming for the great result at the tournaments”, but we can enjoy it. By the way, you should remember the word above, “gachi“, literally means “serious”. gachi de yaru means “I’ll do it seriously”.

I recorded our clan fighting with other clan. Here it is. The person holding golden AK-47 is me.

Someday, I’ll try “Counter Strike”.

Someone crawling…

I don’t know why…but I’ve liked zombie movies since I was a kid.

Now that zombie movies got typical. First of all, something happens. Depending on the movies, some virus might spread out, some chemicals might leak. Finally, it gets pandemics.

There are many kinds of zombies in movie, such as zombies who run fast, who can talk, who rape women. However they get colory spieces, all their wants are simply “bite” and “eat” people.

The first movie I watched is ‘The Return Of The Living Dead’ (called batarian in Japan) directed by Dan O’Bannon in 1985. I excitedly watched it in the movie thater when I was a kid. Even now, “Zombie movies? They already got in the one track mind! Biting and eating…and casualties widely spread…and in the end, they become zombies themselves, right?” most of my friends say so, I like watching them. I don’t know why.

Last year, I bought one FPS game. It was ‘Left 4 Dead’, featuring Zombies. To be correct, the enemies in this game are not zombies, but infected people by some dangerous virus. The players you operate have to escape from where you are, fighting zombies.

During the play, you face some special infected in the game, such as ‘Tank’, ‘Boomer’, ‘Hunter’, ‘Smooker’ and ‘Witch’.

‘Tank’ has so strong skin and power that you have to shoot it from a distance. Fire, like a molotov, is very effective.
‘Boomer’ is an ugly and fat thing, and sometimes vomits disgusting things. They let many zombies gather.

‘Hunter’ looks like human at the first glance, however, its jump is so fast and once you’re caught by it you must face your death without other’s help.

‘Smooker’ has a long tongue. Hiding on the roof of the building, it aims you to catch by its tongue.

‘Witch’ is normally meek. You can hear her crying in the distance. Don’t get her mad… Her ‘Death Embrace’ will take you to heaven.

You can play this game with many people all over the world. You and your three partners get a party and proceed to the escape zone. In November, ‘Left 4 Dead 2’ is going to be launched. I think it must be exciting one.

This is my play in ‘Left 4 Dead’.

The GUNDAM has finally stood up in Odaiba, Tokyo.

June 14, 2009 4 comments

When I was a child, I did love “GUNDAM”, which is the robot animation of the warfare between the earth federation (Is it a correct expression?) and Principality of Zeon.

Before GUNDAM started, the robot animations typically had the only right and wrong story. The hero was comepletely on the side of justice, and its enemy was always just an enemy. On the contrary, in the GUNDAM, the border line between right and wrong was quite ambiguous. In other words, the characters in GUNDAM had their own backgrounds respectively. Their histories were so deep that we couldn’t verify if they were right or wrong.

It took thirty years since the first GUNDAM. Since the first (We often call the original GUNDAM “the first” or “first GUNDAM) was born, many kinds of GUDAMs were created. Among such GUNDAMs, the first GUMDAM is one of the most famous GUNDAM. For the celebration of the 30th anniversary, this time, BANDAI, the company made GUNDAM at first, decided to built the life sized GUNDAM in Odaiba, Tokyo.

This life sized GUNDAM can move its head and turn light on in its some parts of the body. It also can discharge mists from its thrusters.

I believe that GUMDAM is also very famous not only in Japan but also all over the world, so I guess many sightseers from many countries must come to see it.

I can’t help being proud of the Japanese animations…hihihi

Incidentally, the most favorite GUNDAM for me is “ν GUNDAM”, the second is “Z GUNDAM”.
