Every little thing in my ordinary life 27

A lot of things to do in my business
The president, who is also my friend, ordered me to go to Osaka next week. After that, maybe I have to go to Tanegashima, the island in Kagoshima prefecture. I don’t know what will happen there, but there must be something exciting.

adjectives?
One of English learners, who is also my friend, asked me to teach English. Ever since, I’ve taught two learners. One month was already passed. There is one question, I mean, a strange feeling during the lessons. I’ve thought it for a long time. It’s about present continuous.

In Japan, many English learners think about present continuous as a kind of tense. To me, I can’t help thinking about present continuous (and passive form) as just adjectives. I think I have jumped to my conclusion probably. To me, continuous forms or passsive forms look like adjectives. I don’t think we should treat continuous forms as one type of tense.

1) I am waiting for you.

This sentense is just to indicate that I am in the middle of waiting. It just shows my state. If this situation was happened yesterday, you can only change its tense.

2) I was waiting for you.

Teachers instructed me in my younger age that I can use this form when something continues or keeps going. Now, it seems natural for me to feel like this; “I = waiting.” Maybe you are waiting for someone in the real, maybe you are waiting for someone in your heart or brain. The former is to indicate your present situation, the latter is to do your present thought. That’s all.

Ummm… someday I want to write this topic deeply again.

RAKUGO in Tokyo
I’ve been thinking about lessens for RAKUGO in English held in Tokyo. I’ve decided to apply for the class. Recitals are held twice a year, and I think I have a chance to play my RAKUGO in March. I’ll do my best.

A ton of stocks for this blog
I went to several places in summer. I took a lot of photographs there. I’ll post them in my blog. Please don’t miss them.

Thanks for your comment
I’ll reply to all your comments tomorrow. I have a workshop tomorrow in which I have to recite several scripts and play a role in English as a guide. Sorry about that.

Oh, girlgeum! I’ve just posted an article about my student who went to America. She had a wonderful time there, but it was a little bit tough for her because she could hardly listen to whay they were saying. I felt like going to America as I heard her talk. 😀
